Katwoude lies jammed between Monnickendam and Volendam. Volendam is world-famous for its dike, traditional costumes and old maisonnettes on the labyrinth. You can sail from the port of Volendam with the boat to Marken and walk around on this splendid island.

Monnickendam has a large recreation area at IJsselmeer: Hemmeland. Here you can walk and swim. There are also boats for hiring.

Amsterdam is situated at only 15 km distance. You can visit the several museums or explore the city by bicycle or water bicycle, you’ll see Amsterdam in a complete different way.

Broek in Waterland and Edam are places not far from Katwoude which are certainly worth visiting.
